GTT-Technologies, GTT, is a Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise (SME) that was founded in 1983 as spin-off of the Lehrstuhl für Theoretische Hüttenkunde und Metallurgie der Kernbrennstoffe (Chair for Theoretical Metallurgy and Metallurgy of Nuclear Fuels) at RWTH Aachen University. Since then, GTT has been working on the field of Computational Thermochemistry. The main product is the thermodynamic software package FactSageTM and the associated databases, both of them jointly developed and maintained together with ThermFact/CRCT (Montreal, Canada). Today, there are standard databases for all main classes of available inorganic materials (e.g., steels, oxides, salts), as well as many specialized databases (e.g., nuclear materials). GTT also develops customer-specific databases and is member of the Scientific Group Thermodata Europe (SGTE), which is working jointly on the development of thermochemical databases. Furthermore, GTT offers thermodynamic simulation software programs: ChemApp, SimuSage, ChemSheet and KilnSimu. There are agents working for GTT-Technologies all over the world, especially in Japan and North America, but also in China, India, Korea, Brazil and South Africa. The 12 employees (8 of them hold a PhD degree) at GTT are a team of scientists who work on both thermochemical database development and software programming, but also on the technical-scientific aspects of thermochemistry. Therefore, databases developed by GTT are compatible with existing databases and can enter the market quickly to satisfy the needs of both academia and industry.

Within IL TROVATORE, GTT will contribute to the modelling activities that predict the thermodynamic stability ranges of new coating alloys and coated clad concepts (WP9).
